MCDONALD’S IS GIVING AWAY A FRYLUS, BUT WHAT’S A FRYLUS? McDonald’s apparently wants to help with your selfies. The Chicago-based burger giant is giving out a “Frylus” to customers at participating restaurants on Thursday, which is National Selfie Day. What is a Frylus? It’s a selfie accessory that, according to McDonald’s, “you never knew you wanted or needed until now.” The Frylus is a “mess-resistant stylus and foldable stand” that enables customers to take selfies with their smartphones without messing up the screen—presumably while you’re eating a McDonald’s burger. The campaign, which includes a website, frylus.com , and a video, is part of an effort to promote the chain’s fresh-beef Quarter Pounders. McDonald’s earlier this year shifted to fresh-beef quarter-pound burgers, made to order, after using frozen patties for decades. The company is giving out 100,000 Fryluses at more than 2,000 participating locations nationwide.
